Pasting on the headbands to a book block

I began bookbinding over 12 years ago when, struggling to find a suitable book to use as a holiday journal, I decided I would have to learn how to make my own. All these years and many hundreds of books later, I still love the craft of folding, stitching, gluing and binding a new book. Additionally I make boxes from millboard, including slip cases, pen pots, pencil boxes, gift boxes and Solanders.

I cover my books and boxes with specialist papers, including Japanese Chiyogami, hand marbled, Italian printed, old maps and sheet music. Many of my books are unique as I rarely make the same one twice. A range of my products is available for sale on Etsy.

Based in Cornwall on the Lizard peninsula, I offer a range of workshops aimed at beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills. For more information choose the workshop link above. I also accept commissions to restore or rebind books with cloth bindings. Please contact me if you have a particular project in mind.
