The workshop runs from 10 am to 1 pm.

Saturday 19 October – Hardback Book – Full day workshop – £50please note amended date!

During this workshop you will learn about paper grain, folding, collating and stitching together the pages to make a ‘bookblock’, before tackling the case (cover) and finally binding the book together. The book will be quarter bound with bookcloth and Japanese chiyogami paper.

Not only will you leave with a beautiful, A5 multi signature, hardbound book that can be used as a journal or sketchbook, you will also take home the skills to make many more at home! No previous experience necessary.

This workshop runs from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. Refreshments will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch with you.

Saturday 9 November – Repairs and re-bind – Full day workshop – £50

In this workshop you will learn about the structure of a book, how to tip-in endpapers, how to use Japanese repair tissue, how to deal with creases and tears and what sort of glues to use. In the afternoon you will repair a case and re-bind. Please bring along a book of your own that needs attention. No previous experience necessary.

This workshop runs from 9.30 am to 4.00 pm. Refreshments will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch with you.

Saturday 7 December – Address book – Half day workshop – £35

Come along and learn how to case-in and make a beautiful address book. We will be using a pre-printed bookblock as the inner, and will quarter bind the cover using Italian decorative papers fron Venice and a choice of colours for the cloth spine.

The book would make a lovely Christmas gift, or you may want to keep it for yourself!

This workshop runs from 10 am to 1 pm.
